From June 25th to August 14nd the Opera Festival 2021 will give life to an unmissable season with as a protagonist the new staging of the diptych of Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci, curated by the award-winning world-famous director Gabriele Muccino.
Works already known to the opera lovers, who have been able to admire the one-act opera by Pietro Mascagni for 11 editions since 1935, divided into 11 different settings, one of which has been revisited (for the 1995 edition) and the drama in a prologue and two acts by Ruggero Leoncavallo, for 5 editions from 1960 to 2006.
A transposition that is an occasion for great debuts and excellent returns on the stage, like the first time of the Sicilian tenor Roberto Alagna who, in couple with his life and art partner the soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, will be the protagonist for the gala evening on August 8th.
Defined by the German trade magazine Oper! "the ideal couple from the world of opera", will perform the stage in the primary role of the characters of Turiddu and Santuzza in the opera Cavalleria Rusticana and Canio and Nedda in the opera Pagliacci, for an unmissable evening. Also the Italian soprano par excellence and well-known personality, Katia Ricciarelli, will play the role of Mamma Lucia, giving a characterization to the character absolutely personal and deep.
