PIERINO AND IL LUPO, MASQUERADE, TANGO’S by Sergej Prokofiev, Aram Khachaturian, Astor Piazzolla The Balletto di Verona presents "Serata‘ 900 ", at the Teatro Nuovo in Verona with three ballets: Pierino and the Lupo composed by Sergei Prokofiev, Masquerade composed by Aram Khachaturian and Tango’s set to music by Astor Piazzolla. Despite being of different genres, they are among the greatest composers of the '900 and that is why the Balletto di Verona wanted to pay tribute to him. The curtain will open with Pierino and the Wolf a ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev, a musical fairy tale with video animations designed by Anna Nezhnaya, in which the story of a child, Pierino, who with a bird's help captures a story is narrated fearsome wolf. Each character is represented by a musical theme, entrusted to a particular instrument. A reciting voice narrates the fairy tale while the music comments each scene illustrating the character, the feelings and describing the actions of each character. The choreography is entrusted to the Teacher Anna Guetsman. The second part is represented by Masquerade the suite in five movements composed by Aram Khachaturian, choreographed in neoclassical style by the Masters Anna Guetsman and Eriberto Verardi interpreted by all the students of the Balletto di Verona, in a sort of class concert. The third and final part of the show is intended as a tribute to the great tango composer Astor Piazzolla. The choreographer Eriberto Verardi wanted to give a stylized reading of the traditional Argentine tango, as if to remember and keep Piazzolla's sense of innovation. The artistic vein and the unscrupulous ability to perform music is entrusted to the Tango Por Tres trio: on the piano Giannantonio Mutto, the bandoneòn Luca Degani and the cello Leonardo Sapere, that will bring to mind the years of a cosmopolitan and tangled Buenos Aires.
