Bergantino is a small municipality of Rovigo whose economy revolves around the manufacturing of fairground equipment. And right here, in 1999, the Museum of Rides and Popular Entertainment was founded, enabling visitors to take a spectacular walk through the history of amusement parks.
The exhibition tour begins with games from Ancient Egypt and takes you through the Roman circus, showing you medieval artists, the first parks of the late 18th century and the typical fairgrounds of the industrial age, before stopping to allow you to muse over the great rides and today’s complex technologies.
The exhibition offers detailed information signs, old photos and original models of rides and games: the marvel’s gallery is extraordinary. This room is dedicated to the most amazing human figures of the circus, from fire-eaters and cannon women to fakirs and bearded ladies. Places from elsewhere and spaces of the imagination are the key themes of this museum that is dedicated to the wonders of entertainment and is sure to amaze grown-ups and little ones alike.
