The Arena di Verona Foundation is pleased to announce the rich program of the 2022 Symphonic Season at the Philharmonic Theater. The intense program features internationally renowned artists and conductors and presents 10 concerts in double evenings from 11 February to 26 November. The shows will be offered on Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons.
The third symphonic concert opens the dates for the month of March. The orchestra of the Arena Foundation is directed by the maestro Vittorio Bresciani, while the choir director is Ulisse Trabacchin.
In this musical performance the great protagonist is Johannes Brahms, together with his first mentor, as well as enthusiastic critic: Robert Schumann. Brahms is represented by the operas “Tragic Overture” for orchestra, op. 81 and from the “Canto del destino” for choir and orchestra, op. 54 on verses by Hölderlin. The piece by Robert Schumann that concludes the program of the show is a tormented and suffered masterpiece, which occupied the author with 12 years of work between tweaks and changes: it is Symphony no. 4 in D minor for orchestra, op. 120.
