San Vito di Cadore

The magic of nature and of the UNESCO Heritage giants

At about 1,000 meters of altitude, San Vito di Cadore is a beautiful mountain village a short distance from Cortina d'Ampezzo. Behind it is Antelao, in front Pelmo, both included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. In these areas the landscapes are of extreme beauty, with stretches of still uncontaminated nature, and the green meadows alternate with dense conifer and beech woods.

SUMMER

Walking, trekking at high altitude between the refuges, mountaineering, mountain biking: San Vito di Cadore lends itself to many open air activities. Do not miss the tour around the small lake of Mosigo, perfect for a picnic, and a cycle ride on the Long Road of the Dolomites, the cycle path that unites Cortina d’Ampezzo with Calalzo di Cadore. Also schedule a tour in the locality of Mondeval:  Here the skeleton of a prehistoric hunter that lived 7000 years ago was found, “The Man of Mondeval”, currently preserved in the Museum of Selva di Cadore.

WINTER

The ski area of San Vito is located in a fabulous panoramic position that is always sunny. It too is part of the Dolomiti Superski and offers 20 km of downhill slopes that ensure the possibility of skiing and snowboarding.  For the youngest there is the Kinderheim Snow and Sun available, a kindergarten on the snow where children can have fun in complete safety.
