Val di Zoldo

An as yet untouched valley between Mount Pelmo and Civetta

Dominated by the Dolomite massifs of Pelmo and Civetta, the Val di Zoldo is a still uncontaminated corner in the northern part of the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites. The mining activity on which the local economy was based since ancient times, has left its mark that you can discover along the paths of the ancient iron metallurgical “district” (Arsiera and the mines of Valle Inferna).

The Museum of Iron and of the Nail and the Ethnographic Museum of Val di Goima to Val di Zoldo are of notable interest, offering a glimpse of history, traditions and ancient crafts of the Zoldo communities.

SUMMER

Woods, meadows, and rocky slopes populated by deer, chamois and roe deer offer the ideal scenario during the summer season for walks and trekking along the trails of Monte Pelmo, the Civetta and Moiazza range, but also of Spiz di Mezzodì and of the San Sebastiano group. Among the many possible destinations, the climb to the foot of the Pelmetto allows you to discover the “footprints of dinosaurs”, footprints dating back to 250 million years ago. Among other summertime proposals: climbing, via ferrata, but also sport fishing and biking.

WINTER

In winter the Val di Zoldo, station in the ski area of Ski Civetta and Dolomiti Superski carousel, welcomes the lovers of downhill skiing, but also for ski mountaineering and cross country skiing, thanks to the new  Palafavera biathlon platform, unique in Veneto. A paradise of fresh and powdery snow, ideal also for those who want to discover the best snowshoeing itineraries, or simply indulge oneself in the warmth of refreshments and open refuges in the area.
