An evening visit to the Scrovegni Chapel is a suggestive and engaging experience that allows you to immerse yourself in one of the most important series of frescoes in the history of art. The two shifts for visitors offer a unique opportunity to spend 40 minutes under the starry sky of Giotto.

Known to everyone simply by the surname of its creator, the Chapel is actually named after Santa Maria della Carità and is known all over the world for the extraordinary pictorial cycle created by Giotto.

The work is the artist's greatest fresco masterpiece and is testament to the profound revolution that the Tuscan painter brought to Western art. The series frescoed by Giotto in just two years, between 1303 and 1305, unfolds over the entire interior surface of the Chapel to narrate the Story of Salvation in two different paths: the first with the Stories of the Life of the Virgin and Christ painted along the aisles and on the triumphal arch; the second begins with the Vices and Virtues, and ends with the majestic Last Judgment.

The first great revolution carried out by Giotto in Padua is in the representation of space: examples of "perspective" and 3D depth can be admired.
The second is the attention paid to the representation of Man, in his physicality and passionateness.

In 2021, the Chapel was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of the serial site "The frescoed cycles of the 14th century in Padua".
