A new music festival: on Sunday morning, 8 events where music and art meet. The protagonist of these unmissable events is chamber music, from the 16th to the 20th century, performed by the Arena Foundation's orchestra professors who interpret works from the Renaissance to Romanticism, from Classicism up to the present day. Also combined with the show ticket is a visit to the Luigi Carlon collection, in the splendid rooms overlooking Piazza Erbe.
The musical program is rich and varied.
Sunday 28th January Quintets for clarinet and strings by Johannes Brahms and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Sunday 4th February Small wind ensemble: the Settimino by Hindemith and four pieces by the French Ibert and Milhaud. Sunday 18th February Octet for winds and strings, early masterpiece by Franz Schubert. Sunday 3rd March Quintets and Sonata for two violins by Prokofiev and Urie Sunday 17th March Complete of the Quartets for flute and strings by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Sunday 7th April Transcriptions of opera pieces for ensemble of eight cellos. Sunday 21st April Sonatas and Variations for winds and continuo by Handel, C. P. E. Bach, Lotti, Zelenka and Beethoven. Sunday 5th May – at the Sala Maffeiana of the Philharmonic Theatre Pieces and transcriptions for trombone quartet from the Renaissance to contemporary American music.
