Treviso Suona Jazz Festival returns from May 17 to 25 with a rich program. The preview takes place on April 30, in celebration of International Jazz Day, featuring pianist Shai Maestro in the prestigious setting of Teatro Mario del Monaco.
On Saturday, May 17, the festival opens with the presentation of the book "The Improviser" at the San Gaetano complex, followed by a concert by Enrica Bacchia and Massimo Zemolin at Teatro La Stanza.
On Wednesday, May 21, at Auditorium Sant’Artemio, Francesca Tandoi and Max Ionata will perform in concert. On Thursday 22, at the Church of Santa Caterina, Safety Last!, the famous silent film with live soundtrack, will be staged. On Friday 23, the quartet led by saxophonist Seamus Blake will be at Auditorium Sant’Artemio, while on Saturday 24, Teatro Mario Del Monaco will host the great pianist Uri Caine, accompanied by Brad Jones and Jim Black.
In the concluding weekend, the festival offers special events. On Saturday, May 24, Palazzo Pola hosts The Grooves of Jazz with Attilio Pisarri, a journey through the history of jazz. On Sunday, the workshop Too Young for Jazz? will engage younger audiences, while in the afternoon, at Loggia dei Cavalieri, the workshop participants will perform in a big band formation. Additionally, there will be concerts in local venues for those wishing to combine quality music and good food.
