The gardens of Villa Giustiniani stretch over more than five acres in the Paduan countryside. The seventeenth-century Venetian villa is located in Vanzo, a suburb of San Pietro Viminario, surrounded by century-old plants and rare trees.

The historical garden houses a large rose garden that can be toured with the owners, expert and enthusiastic “gardeners” whose family has lived in the villa for generations, and who will spell out the botanical names of the different rose varieties in addition to the history of the people who introduced them.

Thanks to the culture and passion of the Giustiniani family, you will discover the genealogy of plants and a botanical heritage that spans generations.

There are also vegetable gardens, collections of aromatic plants and ancient fruit trees, especially citrus and lemon, whose size and longevity are extraordinary. Spring bulbous flowers include peonies, irises, daffodils, hyacinths and tulips while the anemone, colchicum and aster bloom in the fall. You can also visit the halls in the Palladian school wing, and the nearby fourteenth-century parish church of St. Matthew the Apostle of Vanzo with its Romanesque bell tower.
