From 23rd March to 11th June, Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano is hosting a new photographic exhibition entitled VIVIAN MAIER. Shadows and Mirrors.

The musesum's itinerary consists of 93 photographs, featuring the famous American nanny-photographer Vivian Maier and her incessant search to find a meaning and a definition of her own being. The exhibition proposed to visitors at Palazzo Sarcinelli thus explores the theme of the self-portrait, starting from her first works in the 1950s, up to the end of the 20th century: works characterised by great expressive variety and complexity of technical realisation.

Through the Rolleiflex camera and then with the Leica, Vivian Maier ideally transports the public through the streets of New York and Chicago, where the continuous play of shadows and reflections show the presence-absence of the artist who, with her self-portraits, tries to relate to the world around her.

The exhibition is curated by Anne Morin in collaboration with Tessa Demichel and Daniel Buso.
