From 21 to 27 August, the city of Asiago will host the 41st outdoor edition of the International Wood Carving Competition.

The wood carving event has attracted visitors from all over Italy and beyond for many years now. A total of 13 sculptors (Italian and international) will take part in the competition, creating their works from a trunk or panel of wood, in full view of passers-by in the main streets and squares of the town and historic centre. Visitors will be able to admire the sculptors’ clever skills as the works take shape, spending an enjoyable day in the centre of Asiago. Visitors may also express their preferences regarding the various artworks on display, at the Tourist Information Office or by clicking on ‘like’ on social media pages, thus contributing to the People’s Choice award which is dedicated to Joe Dalle Ave.

For the final day, Sunday 27 August, the works will be brought together in the gardens of Piazza Carli, where the awards ceremony will be held.
