The villa and its park were built on an embankment standing about three metres above the plain, probably a Paleoveneto castle and later a Roman castrum (cardo). The site has always been of great strategic importance. The earliest nucleus of the Villa Tiepolo Passi dates from the beginning of the 16th century. The villa, built in the Venetian Baroque style with stylistic features indicative of Vincenzo Scamozzi's work, was expanded to its current dimensions a century later by Ermolao Tiepolo, Procurator of St. Mark and senator of the Venetian Republic. In the 19th century the villa became property of the Counts Passi de Preposulo who continue to live in this historic residence.
Besonderheiten der Villa: Frescoes by Pietro Antonio Cerva known as il Bolognese (1674-75); on the outside the great “selese” (this name comes from “selce”, the material in which it is made) with two statues by Giuseppe Bernardi, knows as Torretto, who had a promising apprentice by the name of Antonio Canova; Italian style garden and Romantic park lined with avenues, hillocks, caves and large trees. The perspective, that is the two and a half kilometers straight drive, leads to the river Sile; on the south-east side of the garden there is the chapel with Venetian stuccoes and paintings all by Giambattista Canal. On the ceiling there is a fresco from the school of Tiepolo, “La Fede Trionfante”. On the back, countryside with ancient hedgerows and "roccolo di caccia".
