Dedicated to the famous Venetian architect and to the production of the M.V.M. Cappellin & C. glassworks, the exhibition is the result of a collaboration with Le Stanze Del Vetro and Pentagram Stiftung and is curated by Marino Barovier, one of the most renowned experts in Murano glassmaking, together with Alba Di Lieto and Ketty Bertolaso of the Direction of the Civic Museums of the City of Verona.
"An interesting opportunity - explains the Councillor for Culture Francesca Briani - to see some of the most important achievements of the glass production of the young Scarpa, at the time designer and future promising architect, student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
In addition, the exhibition allows to enhance the activity of the Carlo Scarpa Digital Archive, of which the museum of Castelvecchio is the custodian, while offering the opportunity to admire works of design of the highest level. The creations produced by Scarpa since 1925, in fact, opened the Cappellini glassworks to modernity and international fame.
More than sixty works by "Maestri Vetrai Muranesi Cappellin & C. &" in the years of collaboration with Scarpa will be on display, together with about thirty drawings attributable to the Venetian architect, made for the glassworks. A rare opportunity for a comparison between the final creation, in this case the selection of the glass on display, the original drawings and the photographic documentation of the time.
