Roberto Prosseda with his pedal piano, Quartetto Prometeo recognised by critics as the heir to the Quartetto Italiano, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Philipp von Steinaecker with Ilya Grubert as soloist, theTrio Bandini-Manara-Polidori (in preparation for a new CD for Decca dedicated to Paganini), the pianist Gloria Campaner, and the Coro Friuli Venezia Giulia: are just some of the artists who will animate the rich programme of the 37th edition of the International Festival of Music of Portogruaro with over 40 events from 20 August to 18 September 2019.

Organised by theFondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia, with the support from the City of Portogruaro, the Metropolitan City of Venice and the Veneto Region and the main sponsors Santa Margherita - Gruppo Vinicolo, Adriatico2 and Intrapresa srl, every year the Festival celebrates the tradition of great Classical and Chamber Music in Portogruaro, an architectural jewel with an ancient history, built around the river Lemene and perfect for slowvisits as an alternative to great tourism.

The romantic paradigm is this year's file rouge to investigate the figure of Schumann, his wife Clara and the circle of musicians and intellectuals who revolved around them, with particular attention to the chamber repertoire and a renewed interest in wind instruments, choral music, organ and singing.
