With an exhibition of over 140 works, from the Historical Archive of the Arena di Verona Foundation, the history of the Arena is celebrated. The exhibition, entitled "Waiting for the Opera - l'Opera in mostra", immerses you in the most beautiful works staged in the Roman Amphitheater, from its origins in 1913 to the present day, through sketches, memories, stage costumes, vintage photos, audio and video recordings arranged in five macro areas, representing the titles on the festival this year: "Aida", "Tosca", "Il Trovatore", "La Traviata" and "Carmen". The exhibition ranges from great artists including Maria Callas and Placido Domingo, the director Franco Zeffirelli, who died a few days before the start of the current opera season and great internationally famous set designers and costume designers, including Pino Casarini and Gabriella Pescucci.
A must for opera and non-opera lovers. From 21th June to 22nd September 2019 it is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (last admission at 6:30 p.m.), while on opera nights the exhibition is open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (last entry at 8:00 p.m.).
