The "Regata delle Bisse", wich is held on Lake Garda every year during the sommer months, is a traditional Venetian rowing regatta. Its origin dates back to the period 1405-1797, when the lake was part of the Republic of Venice. With the end of the domination of Venice this tradition stopped at Laka Garda and was rediscovered at the beginning of the 20th Century. The boats, the so-called "bisse" are slill modeled like the former Venetian rowing boats. They are 10 meters long, 65 centimeters wide, extreamly flat and have a weith of 110 kilogramms.
