Good night, glaciers: the display at the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomites is a tale rooted in the distant past and prompting us to imagine what the future will be like, in collaboration with Fondazione Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and Istituto Scienze Polari del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR.

The protagonists of Good Night, Glaciers are the international researchers who, since 2015, have been taking 'carrots' from the depths of the glaciers, saving them from the effects of global warming, and storing them in Antarctica, preserving a unique archive of data on the planet's past, aware that our history is written in ice. In the heart of the Dolomites, Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti takes visitors directly into an extreme context, to the edge of the world: "inside" the glaciers.

From 02 January 2024 in the exhibition centre located in the arrival station of the Lagazuoi cable car, at an altitude of 2,732 metres, the exhibition dedicated to Ice Memory, a project recognised by UNESCO, will open. Those who climb to Lagazuoi are invited to tiptoe into a fascinating yet little known environment. The entire exhibition is an invitation to explore an unusual but extremely valuable environment for our future, supporting scientific research. A greater collective awareness is the necessary starting point to try to turn the tide.

The exhibition, curated by Erica Villa and Enrico Costa, is accompanied by an online catalogue in Italian, English and German - downloadable with a QR Code - that allows visitors to explore the themes in depth.

Admission to the exhibition is free and the opening follows the opening times of the Lagazuoi cable car.
