From 16 September 2022 until 15 January 2023, Treviso dedicates an important monographic exhibition to its artist par excellence, Paris Bordon, defined by the Venetian historian Marco Boschini as "the Divin Pitor" (the Divine Painter).

The works on display have been carefully selected by the two curators Simone Facchinetti and Arturo Galansino, with special loans from international museums such as the Louvre in Paris, the National Gallery in London and the Vatican Museums in Rome.

From the latter comes the monumental altarpiece depicting St. George and the Dragon, which you can admire for the first time following its precise restoration specifically for the occasion.

Through the masterpieces of Paris Bordon - some of them on display for the first time in Italy - the exhibition reveals the creativity and evolution of the work by this remarkable pupil of Titian.
The works range from sensual female portraits to mythological representations, encompassing also allegories and splendid altarpieces.

The exhibition is completed by an itinerary enriched with comparisons and references provided by museum director Fabrizio Malachin, through which you can trace the works of Paris Bordon in the regions of Treviso and Veneto.

The exhibition can be visited at the Museum of Santa Caterina, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 6pm.
Admission: €12 full-price, €10 reduced.
