The Delicious Festival will begin on Friday, 20 September with the opening of the Delicious Pala, the withdrawal of the competition numbers and the food and wine evening.
It will continue on Saturday, 21 September with the Delicious Trail during which the 44 km main race will take place starting from the heart of Cortina, at 7.45 in the morning, followed then by the 22.9 km short trail, with start at 10 am from Pocol. And finally the Delicious Climbing Dolomites, a scoring contest along the selected routes of the Five Towers, the largest rock gym in Cortina.
Food and wine aspect will also play an important role thanks to the involvement of the group of restaurateurs and huts of the Lagazuoi 5 Torri Giau area: Baita de Dones, Hotel Villa Argentina, Hotel Ristorante La Baita, Hut Cinque Torri, Hut Averau, Hut Col Gallina, Hut Malga Peziè de Parau, Hut Fedare, Hut Lagazuoi, rifugio Nuvolau, Hut Scoiattoli, Hut Dibona, Hut Croda da Lago.
All together they will develop special menus that will be tasted by the participants and their companions. Along the trail, the huts will prepare some traditional Ampezzo dishes such as "Frico Friulano" based on cheese and polenta, and the casunziei, crescent-shaped ravioli stuffed with red turnip, which the ski champion Kristian Ghedina loves so much and who every year eats loads of them along the way, while for the post-race the chefs will cook local delicacies, some revisited in a modern way.
