The Opera, Ballet and Symphonic Music Seasons of the Teatro La Fenice Foundation are long-awaited and appreciated the world over.
The season opened with "Don Carlo"; to follow, the programme features certain works yet to be staged, such as "Pinocchio", "A Hand of Bridge" and “Il castello del principe Barbablù” (The Castle of Prince Bluebeard). Together with the staging of "La Traviata" and the "Il Trovatore", there will also be an Italian première of "Rigoletto".
The Vivaldi trend continues with "Farnace". There will be a new staging of "Faust" and "Carmen". Return to the stage of: "Rinaldo" and "Roberto Devereux". Totally new to the Venice stage will be the diptych composed of "Prima la musica e poi le parole" and "Der Schauspieldirektor". "La serva padrona" and the first modern representation of "Engelberta". While for the Ballet, there will be the first Italian performance of "Duse".
The great classics of the Fenice repertoire will complete the programme: Donizetti's "The Elixir of Love", "The Barber of Seville" and "La cambiale di matriomonio" and "Aida".
The main themes of the Symphonic Season 2019-2020 will be the music of Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach. Of course, there will also be the unmissable Christmas Concert in the Basilica of San Marco. Myung-Whun Chung will conduct the Orchestra and Choir of Teatro La Fenice in the seventeenth edition of the "New Year's Concert at Teatro La Fenice".
Finally, the project "Nuova musica alla Fenice" (New Music at the Fenice) has been extended, thanks to the support of the Amici della Fenice Foundation.
