Pensieri Preziosi (Precious Thoughts) aims to make known the main goldsmith schools of research and, this year, it offers a selection of jewellery from the most important European collection of contemporary jewellery belonging to the Austrian collector couple Heidi and Karl Bollmann.

They started collecting jewellery in 1972, on the occasion of the birth of their first child. The search for an original gift for his wife led Karl Bollmann into the world of contemporary jewellery. Since then, together with his wife, he has collected objects with different styles, original conceptual approaches and unusual techniques.

The thousand plus pieces of the collection, combined with the Bollmann’s desire to support the artists, document the story of contemporary jewellery from the 1950s to the present day. The exhibition begins with the great master Peter Skubic, who introduced the Bollmanns to the world of contemporary jewellery.

You also get the opportunity to admire the jewels of the most famous and skilled contemporary artists, which will be on display for the first time in Italy in Padua. A special tribute is reserved for Bruno Martinazzi (1923-2018) and Manfred Bischoff (1947-2015), to which the couple were tied by deep admiration and friendship. The event is organised by the Padua Municipal Department of Culture with the support of the Padua and Rovigo Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio.
