The Cansiglio plateau, with its ancient forest, is located between the Belluno Pre-Alps and the upper Marca Trevigiana. Autumn is the best time to stroll among the beeches and spruces; take any of the many paths and you will find yourself walking amidst brushstrokes of red, yellow and ochre.

In autumn, this area in the province of Belluno is a natural wonder. One interesting area for admiring the autumn leaves is around the Sanctuary of San Vittore and Santa Corona, about 3 km from the centre of Feltre. The Nature Trail takes you through meadows and woods that in autumn are ablaze with warm colours.
3. The Asiago plateau
On the Asiago plateau, in the province of Vicenza, the autumn foliage transform the landscapes into a palette of colours. There is an almost endless choice of paths for walking enthusiasts: from gentle strolls in discovery of ancient districts to challenging hikes in the mountains.
4. Monti Lessini
In the province of Verona, the autumn colours are celebrated in all their splendour in the Lessinia Regional Park. One of the best places to admire the copper and golden shades of nature is the Valley of the Sphinxes with its fascinating limestone monoliths similar to Egyptian sphinxes.
