The Arena di Verona Foundation is pleased to announce the rich program of the 2022 Symphonic Season at the Philharmonic Theater. The intense program features internationally renowned artists and conductors and presents 10 concerts in double evenings from 11 February to 26 November. The shows will be offered on Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons.
The wind instruments of the Verona Arena Orchestra, directed by Marco Alibrando, are the great protagonists of the second evening dedicated to concerts.
The first part of the program proposes a great Mozart masterpiece: the majestic “Gran Partita” serenade for wind instruments. We then start with an unsurpassed masterpiece of the classical genre. Through a time span of almost 200 years, in the second part of the concert is performed the very rare Serenade op. 7 by Richard Strauss, a refined and fascinating work for 13 wind instruments. The third part proposes a foray into modern times: "Suite", from "The Threepenny Opera" composed for Bertold Brecht and represented by Kurt Weill.
