BIENNALE OF ARCHITECTURE The Laboratory of the Future
Event details Exhibitions - Great events From 20 May 2023 To 26 November 2023 Venezia Website Ask for info (0039) 041 5218 828

The Exhibition (which will tackle topics such as lands, borders, migration, cultural identity, globalisation and diaspora ties) posits itself as a type of artisan workshop, a laboratory where architects and professionals from a wide range of creative backgrounds sketch out an itinerary made up of example works from their activity. The public (participants and visitors) may then negotiate this trail while imagining what the future holds in store.

The 18th edition of Venice’s International Architecture Exhibition, curated by Lesley Lokko, will be open to the public until Sunday 26 November.

In 2020, Lesley Lokko founded the African Futures Institute in Ghana, a school of specialisation in architecture and a platform for public events. In 2015, she founded the Graduate School of Architecture at Johannesburg. She has taught in the United States, Europe, Australia and Africa. She has received many awards for her contribution to Architecture Education. She says: “We architects have a unique opportunity to propose ambitious and creative ideas that help us visualise a more just and optimistic shared future.
