The Valbelluna, the Certosa di Vedana, the abandoned mines of Valle Imperina, Gares and the Valle di San Lucano, the Col di Lana, the green Comelico, Vigo and Pieve di Cadore, the intriguing Roman excavation site of Feltre and the sacrarium of Pian di Salesei. These are only a few of the thirty stops that make up the ‘Way of the Dolomites', a circular itinerary that encompasses the most beautiful and interesting places in the province of Belluno and lets you discover the authentic side of these mountains rather than just a simple trekking experience.

The route is inspired by the Way of St. James and is suitable for everyone, expert excursionists or not, with some challenging parts, though safe and easy to access, privileging ancient mule tracks and mountain paths, among immense natural beauty and small villages far from the hordes of tourists.

We begin and end the circular itinerary at the ancient Sanctuary of the Martyrs Vittore and Corona in Anzù di Feltre. The itinerary passes through Feltre to then rise up to the Bellunesi Dolomite National Park, through the Valbelluna, to reach the Certosa di Vedana and the abandoned mines of Valle Imperina. Then onwards to Gares, Canale d'Agordo, the Col di Lana and the trenches of the First World War. The Way is also a chance to rediscover well known destinations such as Cortina d'Ampezzo, Misurina, Auronzo di Cadore, Lorenzago di Cadore, holiday place for Popes, and Pieve di Cadore, the birth place of the painter Tiziano. Splendid stretches unwind then in the green Comelico, with its typical "Tabià", up to the springs of the River Piave, through Alpago and Nevegal. Each stop leaves something memorable behind, being in touch with such a wonderful natural environment and admiring historic monasteries, churches and small villages, some now abandoned.

The ‘Cammino delle Dolomiti’ caters to everyone and does not require specific hiking skills. To help you plan your trip, a guide has been made available at the Belluno Tourist Information Offices
