At sunset, especially on clear summer days, the Dolomites offer a unique natural sight: the stone takes on a pinkish-purple colour and there is the enrosadira phenomenon, a Ladin term that means "to become pink".

There are two cities in the province of Belluno that bear the title of the Walled Cities of Veneto: Feltre with its discreet beauty and elegance and Pieve di Cadore.

Feltre, located in the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites is a city full of historical and artistic heritage, with its frescoed palaces and the elegant Piazza Maggiore dominated by the Castello di Alboino in the summit of the Capre Hills. The Civic Museum, the Carlo Rizzardo modern art gallery and the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art are all worth visiting, as well as the Teatro della Sena where the great Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni took his first steps and the Archaeological Area under the parvis of the Cathedral.

Pieve di Cadore, birthplace of the great painter Tiziano Vecellio, whose house can be admired, has taken on a key role for the whole of Cadore starting from the Roman era, thanks to its strategic geographic location. Its defence system dates back to the late nineteenth century, with the Monte Ricco fortifications, the Batteria Castello and Col Vaccher. In the fifteenth century Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore there is the Archeological Museum, which is one of the most important in Veneto. Inside the Church of Santa Maria Nascente you can admire precious works by Tiziano such as "The Madonna with child". Of particular interest are the Palazzo Jacobi-Solero and the Palazzo Sampieri-Vallenzasca.

In the province of Belluno there are two ancient and fascinating villages that are part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy: Sottoguda with its "Serrai", a canyon of about two kilometres carved by the Pettorina stream, and Mel with the Zumelle Castle.
