Extensive pine forests, lagoons, dunes and cultivated fields make up the natural oasis of Vallevecchia, located between the two popular tourist seaside resorts of Caorle and Bibione, in the province of Venice.

For those who have yet to discover Vallevecchia, it is an area of outstanding natural and environmental wealth, one of the largest coastal dune systems in Veneto and last stretch of uninhabited coastline of the upper Adriatic. The island covers about 900 hectares, over half of which are used for experimental and low environmental impact cultivation. Approximately 150 hectares are made up of sandy shores, lowland forest, coastal pine forest and newly formed wetlands.

At Vallevecchia it is still possible to observe the flora and fauna typical to sandy coastlines, and it is a reference point for bird watching enthusiasts and for all of those seeking a different type of holiday than that offered by the nearby seaside resorts. The island is simply amazing, a piece of paradise that the EU has recognized as a Special Protection Area and Site of Community Importance.
