Val Comelico

Panoramas of rare beauty for an unforgettable holiday

Woods which extend for about 15,000 hectares, and then meadows and pastures and round and about the Dolomite rocks. The Val Comelico is made up of amazing and extraordinary landscapes, but also of traditions, culture, sport, relaxation. There are five municipalities in the area: Comelico Superiore, Danta di Cadore, San Nicolò di Comelico, Santo Stefano di Cadore and San Pietro di Cadore.

SUMMER

There are also a great variety of excursions and itineraries for trips on foot or by mountain bike, for every level of difficulty. You start from the valley’s meadows to reach the woods and pastures and then up to the most arduous mountain passes, ridges and peaks. Not to be missed for its high scenic value is the Val Visdende, from the Latin vallis videnda i.e. “valley that deserves to be seen”, an uncontaminated oasis with over 6,000 hectares of coniferous forests. This area is protected and in summer access with automotive means is regulated.

WINTER

The Ski Area Val Comelico is part of the "Dolomiti Superski" , the largest skiing area in the world. The ski slopes that from Padola reach the 2000 meters of Col d’la Tenda, are a point of departure of the charming itinerary "Natural Park UNESCO Dolomites".  Still in Padola you will find about 30 km of cross country skiing that meander between impressive spruce forests in an uncontaminated nature.
