Alpine Path no. 5
Alpine Path no. 5 starts from Pusteria and ends in Pieve di Cadore, covering about ninety kilometres in the name of Titian. This itinerary is dedicated to the Renaissance painter and famous "son" of the Cadore region. For good hikers, the basic trail is not particularly strenuous and always well equipped.
However, it is more demanding on the Marmaròle mountain chain, which is still considered a wild and quite fascinating place due to its proximity to better known peaks and lack of support points. In the Antelao massif area, Alpine Path no. 5 intersects with no. 4, and proceeds on the same path up to Pieve di Cadore and Lake Centro Cadore.
It's well worth spending a short stay in the place that gave birth to Titian: Pieve di Cadore. In this town, you can admire the house of the artist and the painting "Madonna with child," preserved in the Church of Santa Maria Nascente.
