A special presentation of Marco Goldin’s latest work is staged at the Teatro Filarmonico: in the form of a recital, the new novel by the art historian and curator entitled “The Last Days of Van Gogh – The Newfound Diary”.

A story in the form of a diary to enter the artist’s mind, during the last 75 days of his life, and exhibited on stage with a suggestive visual apparatus composed of images of paintings, drawings and personal letters of the artist, who has told the world through his torments with representations that force and bend reality to its own expressiveness.

A deep bond between the Venetian author and the Dutch artist, which unfolds over twenty-five years of intense study, essays, research and exhibitions that have attracted more than 2.5 million visitors.

Of his last work he says that “he focuses on the psychological deepening of his life intentions. They are reflections and memories and through this filter I bring to light his relationships with his father, with his mother, with Gauguin, in other words with the people important to him. A great story comes out through so many flashbacks. Also very important are the descriptions of nature and landscapes, there is so much nature”.
