Soave

A charming destination in terms of history, nature and food

Castles, villas, churches, history and traditions, unique flavours and beautiful rolling hills.  These are the lands of East Verona

We start in Soave, a medieval town enclosed within an undamaged city wall, awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club.  With enchanting views and the charm of its little historical villages charm, Soave is also famous for its much-loved white wine: Soave DOC and DOCG and Recioto di Soave DOCG are among the most exported and internationally famous wines and these, along with other local products of excellence can be discovered along the Soave Wine Route.

East Verona is a land of villages dominated by castles, rural courtyards, and imposing manor houses dotted between the mountains and the plain.

This part of the Veneto Region offers countless routes among the unique and precious records of prehistory and geopaleontology, such as at the Roncà Fossil Museum that depicts life from over 40 million years ago.  But it also offers destinations for nature lovers and slow tourism, such as Badia Calavena, Colognola ai Colli, Illasi, Monteforte d’Alpone.

Finally, you can discover the typical products of the region, such as the Monte Veronese DOP cheese and Valpolicella DOP extra virgin olive oil.  Small inns, agritourism venues and renowned restaurants will offer you the very best delicious local food and wine.  A truly amazing journey of flavours!
