Castelfranco honours its edible flower with a weekend completely dedicated to the delicious variety.
It begins with the inauguration of the 2022 edition of the Radicchio Festival, with a press conference together with authorities and journalists to present the project to valorise the product and the territory, which will see numerous initiatives come to life.
On Friday 9 December, Mario Beraldo, President of the Università Popolare di Castelfranco, will present The Variegated Radicchio of Castelfranco Veneto in the Teatro Accademico.
From Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 December, the appointment is in Piazza XXIV Maggio with the producers' market exhibition and, on Sunday morning, the award ceremony for the best radicchio. To enrich the activities in the square, there will be tastings in the centre proposed by the Consorzio dei Ristoranti del Radicchio: a unique moment to get close to the winter flower and be enchanted by its sweet flavour.
On Saturday 10, Radici&Radici returns, the seminar entirely dedicated to Radicchio, from its history to genetics, from agronomic patrics to its role in nutrition. An afternoon full of talks, in the wonderful setting of Villa Parco Bolasco. There will also be a visit to discover the historic centre, with hints on the cultivation and production of radicchio, on Sunday 11 December at 11 a.m. departing from Piazza XXIV Maggio.
