The concept of “privacy” is characterised by very complex and different aspects.
Veneto Region is committed to ensuring that all data processing by its regional structures complies with the guarantees provided by the data protection law, for the protection of individuals.


PRIVACY POLICY of the portal

1. DATA CONTROLLER

The Data Controller of data relating to identified or identifiable natural persons is the Regional Council (for data processed by the structures that report thereto), with head office in: Venice, Palazzo Balbi - Dorsoduro 3901.

4. PURPOSES OF DATA PROCESSING

The Regional Council processes personal data in order to fulfil institutional functions, excluding processing when the purposes pursued may be attained by means of anonymous data or methods that make it possible to identify the data subject only if it is stricty necessary.

The purpose of processing data through the regional tourist portal (www.veneto.eu) to promote tourism, the region and the tourist localities in Veneto Region.

For newsletter services the legal basis of processing is related to the institutional duties of the regional administration in order to provide the information services requested.

The data subject may voluntarily provide personal data and information in order to request, report and/or send reminders for interventions, services, information and/or request informative material, through the various access channels and/or by filling in the "forms” provided.

In the above cases, the Regional Administration obtains information and data about the sender, which are required to respond to the requests and/or provide the services requested, and accordingly uses said data solely for the purpose of providing the services and/or following up requests (see point 6 below for further information).


5. PROCESSING METHOD AND RETENTION
Personal data are processed in hardcopy format and by computer and will be retained in compliance with the rules on the storage of administrative documentation and, in any case, for the time necessary to attain the institutional purposes, including archiving in the public interest, and for scientific or historical research or statistical purposes.

6. DISCLOSURE, COMMUNICATION AND/OR DISSEMINATION OF DATA
Data will be processed exclusively by the personnel and collaborators of the Regional Council and/or regional agencies and entities and/or companies expressly appointed as External Data Processors pursuant to Regulation 2016/679/EU and Decree of the Regional Council no. 596 of 8 May 2018.

In the case of data provided voluntarily by the data subject in order to request, report and/or send reminders for interventions, services, information and/or to request informative material, data may be disclosed to third parties in the cases permitted by the applicable law and, in any case, in order to meet the above requests, or if said disclosure is imposed by legal or regulatory obligations, including in legal proceedings.
During public events, seminars and conferences, photographs and/or videos may be taken to support said events/conferences. Said images and videos may retained with Veneto Region's iconographic material and may then be distributed and/or included in historical publications and published on the tourist portal www.veneto.eu.

7. RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

Data subjects (the natural persons to whom the data refer) have the right to obtain from the Regional Administration, in the cases provided, access to their personal data and the rectification or erasure of said data and have the right to restrict or object to processing (Articles 15 et sequitur of Regulation 2016/679/EU). 8. COMPLAINTS TO THE ITALIAN DATA PROTECTION COMMISSIONER

Data subjects who consider that the processing of their personal data is in breach of the provisions of Regulation 2016/679/EU have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Commissioner, with registered office in Piazza di Monte Citorio, 121 - 00186 Rome (website http://www.garanteprivacy.it/), as provided by Article 77 of the Regulation, or the right to an effective judicial remedy (Article 79 of the Regulation).

9. PROVISION OF DATA

The provision of data is optional in the case of data provided voluntarily by the data subject and in all cases where the provision of data is not compulsory pursuant to specific legal provisions and/or regulations.

In the cases where the provision of data is not compulsory, failure to provide data indicated as being necessary, will make it impossible to obtain the service requested.
