To be travelled on foot or in flat-bottomed boats (guided tours, booking only)

The Naturalist Oasis of Mulino Cervara is a small natural reserve occupying approximately 25 ha located in the Parco Naturale Regionale del Fiume Sile, a few kilometers from Treviso. Here you will find yourself in an environment of incredible naturalistic interest, one of the last remaining examples of a humid resurgence area. This is why it is classified as a Community Site of Interest (S.I.C.) for the refuge of wild fauna and the conservation of wild flora.

Located between the Sile River and the Piòvega torrent, the Oasis has the form of an island which contains numerous spring-fed pools bringing water from underground. This environment hosts numerous marsh plant species, freshwater birds and reptiles, and even a botanical garden.

There are two ways for exploring the oasis: on foot along an easy dirt trail, or the convenient guided excursion service in pantane (typical flat bottomed boats) to explore the internal canals and swamps, navigating along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Sile River.

In addition to nature, the Oasis has a grist mill from the 14th century, recently restored and functioning. Children will certainly be thrilled to see it because there are close-up the demonstrations of grain being ground. In the hunting "cason" you can see local birds and do some birdwatching.

The Oasis includes a large aviary, home to a few pairs of White Stork (Ciconia ciconia). This is the "Nest for the Stork” project, an initiative to help this species to return to nest along the upper course of the River Sile.
