Operaestate Festival now presents its 43rd edition: from 5 July to 30 September, over 100 shows will be performed in theatres and outdoor venues (parks, gardens and art settings) of the city of Bassano del Grappa and the Veneto foothills.
The Festival opens with Le Bal, a parade show by the French company Remue Ménage in the centre of Bassano. Figures of the international dance world include: Christos Papadopoulos, one of the top innovators in the world of contemporary dance; the amazing dancers of the MM Contemporary Dance Company performing in two works, by Mauro Bigonzetti and Adriano Bolognino; a new work by Simona Bertozzi, and a fusion of dance and electronic music with Annamaria Ajmone and Laura Agnusdei. The Festival will also host the Italian premiere of the Hamburger Kammerballet and, at the Bolle Nardini, choreographed sequences by Alessandro Sciarroni. Another not-to-be-missed event is the new work by Italo-Japanese artiste, Masako Maksushita, for Dance Well.
The spotlight is also focused on arthouse theatre, while music ranges from classic to contemporary, from Makaya McCraven to Lubomyr Melnyk. The Orchestra of Padua and Veneto will present a new production of Carmina Burana.
