The eight acres of
Parco delle Cascate di Molina feature a myriad of natural beauty and trails of varying difficulty to suit everyone. To get to the park you should head to
San Pietro in Cariano and follow the signs to
Molina, a hamlet of Fumane.
Three possible routes:
green, red and
black. The
green one is easy; it lasts half an hour will take you from the prehistoric cave to the
Spolverona waterfall, then the
Black Falls and
Green Falls and finally ending with a visit to the archaeological site of the Park. The
red route of medium difficulty, about an hour's hike, adds to the previous route a visit to the
Cascata del Doppio Covolo [Double Den Falls] and to the
Cascata dell'Orso [Bear Falls], and then turns and goes back up via the
Pozzo dell'Orso and the
Cascata del Tombolo and
Cascata del Tombolino. After the
Cascata del Marmittone, the trail merges with the second part of the Green trail.
The last segment, the
black path, classified as strenuous, requires two hours of walking. You can reach the panoramic overlook to view the entire park, the
Pozzo Tondo and the
Grotta delle Tette More, the most remote but also the most fascinating spots in the Park.
The paths of the Park are passable only on foot (pushchairs or bicycles can only reach the entrance). It is forbidden to enter the water due to the presence of endangered protected species. Dogs must be kept on a leash and can not enter the water.
