Nemo Beach

Where: Access from the Jesolo Hospital: Via Levantina, 104 - 30016 Jesolo Lido (Province of Venice)

With 12 km of coastline, towers designed by internationally renowned architects, 360 hotels and over 300 summer events, Jesolo is the most popular seaside resort in the Veneto region.

It was here on the beach in front of the city hospital that, in 2014, Nemo Beach was created, the brainchild of Carlo Bramezza, General Manager of the Veneto health organisation, ULSS4, the first in Veneto dedicated to people with reduced mobility and disabilities, inspired by the same "Veneto Beach Social and Inclusive Tourism" project.

Thanks to an agreement signed between UlSS4 and the current manager, Jesolmare Servizi Turistici, today Nemo Beach provides free of charge to disabled people (and their carers) as many as 56 large pitches with umbrellas and sunbeds. Disabled users can also use the free beachfront car park, specially created for easy beach access.

The beach offers all the facilities that disabled visitors may need for an enjoyable holiday: a lifting device to help movement between wheelchair and sunbed, solid floor pitches that allow full wheelchair movement around the umbrella, disabled-friendly toilets and staff always on hand to provide help where needed.

The beach also includes a children's playground, a swing for the disabled, music, a gazebo and a connected "Bau Bau Beach" for four-legged friends.
