By car

Veneto is well connected with the rest of Italy by means of a functional highway network.
It is crossed from West to East by the A4 Turin-Trieste highway. From North it can be reached by means of the A22 Brennero-Modena highway. From south it can be reached again with the A22 Brennero-Modena, and principally with the A13 Bologna-Padova highways.
Furthermore, the regional highway network also includes the A31 Valdastico and A27 Venice-Belluno highways, which swiftly connect the capital cities of the plains with the towns of the mountains. In 2009 the Mestre Highway Bypass was opened.

By train

Italy has a large railway network which connects almost the entire national territory with a large selection of regional, Intercity and high speed trains. There are various types of trains: local, direct (DIR), Regional (R) and Interregional (IR), which stop at all stations, and the faster and longer running, Intercity (IC) and Eurostar (ES), which stop only in the major cities. There are also the High Speed Eurostar trains, known as the Red Arrow, which can reach up to 300 km/h.

Once you have bought a ticket, before getting onto the train, you must validate (stamp) the ticket using one of the yellow machines located near the platforms.
