The Walk which crosses the beautiful Vicenza countryside from the plains to the hills up to the mountains, connects places dear to two leading figures of not just Veneto but Italian culture: Antonio Fogazzaro, writer who lived between 1800 and 1900, and the great-grandson Giuseppe Roi, a great patron of Vicenza culture.

The Walk passes Vicenza, the city of Palladio, and touches a good 16 municipalities, rich in suggestive landscapes and Veneto villas, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Vicenza and the Venetian Villas of the 1500s

Andrea Palladio was an architect who succeeded in making an extraordinary artistic impression  on the Veneto countryside and that of Vicenza in particular, whose resonance has influenced the history of architecture.

For this reason, in 1994 UNESCO recognized Vicenza and the villas of Palladio in Veneto  as World Heritage Sites.
