The very famous Verona Carnival returns to cheer up the city!
The event, as usual, was opened at 6th of Jennuary with the laying of Papà del Gnoco statue in Piazza San Zeno and the inauguration of the Museum of Carnival.
From February 16th to March 19th, the “Villaggio delle Tradizioni – Carnival of Verona” returns to the former Summer Gardens in Porta San Zeno, where you can find all the culinary traditions of Verona as well as workshops, events and live music.
The most awaited event, the traditional parade of the "Venardì Gnocolar", which this year has reached its 493rd edition, will be held on Friday 17th February at 1.45 p.m.; in the late afternoon the show continues in Piazza San Zeno.
Saturday 18th festivities continue on with the Magnifico Convivio, the masquerade ball hosted inside the Palazzo della Gran Guardia.
Sunday 19th at 2.00 p.m. it's tourn of the traditional historical Cavalcade of Tomaso Da Vico in which one hundred horses will accompany the 493rd Papa del Gnoco from Castelvecchio to Piazza San Zeno.
Shrove Tuesday 22nd in Piazza Dante, the Last Carnival Day is celebrated on , with the participation of street performers, make-up artists and mascots on tour.
