Annual rice festival in Isola della Scala. The popular Rice Fair of Isola della Scala arrives to its 55th edition reproving itself the most important fair of this sector.
Born in 1966 from "garzega", a farmers' tradition which celebrated the end of the annual harvest time, it has been marked by the creation of the famous receipt of the "Risotto all'Isolana".
According to the tradition, many rich food and drink stands will be set in order to offer all visitors the extraordinary possibility to taste and discover the local specialities of the southern area of Verona province, first of all the typical Risotto all'isolana.
This speciality was born from the creativity of Mr. Pietro Secchiati in 1967 and it is now the traditional receipt, which distinguished this fair from all the others popular fairs.
Moreover, to enrich the offer, the fair will host Risitaly, an important food event dedicated to rice from all over Italy. All italian rice producers will present.
Besides the food aspect, during the fair many other special events will take place to enliven the atmosphere: concerts, dances and various entertainments for all. For this occasion different guided tours of the surrounding area will be organised in order to spread the extraordinary natural treasures of Isola della Scala.
