Mostra fotografica Robert Doisneau At the Gran Guardia, a great retrospective on the famous French photographer.
From 15 November 2023 until 14 February 2024, Palazzo della Gran Guardia will host the exhibition “Robert Doisneau”.
A great retrospective, which traces the events and creative ability of the French artist through 135 iconic black and white images, from the collection of the Atelier Robert Doisneau and Montrouge.
Among the works on display is the iconic kiss of Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville, Paris, 1950, taken in front of the Paris City Hall and one of the most reproduced image in the world. The exhibition is also enriched by the screening of excerpts from Clémentine Deroudille's film "Robert Doisneau. Le Révolté du merveilleux" and from an interview with the curator of the exhibition, Gabriel Bauret.
"What I was trying to show was - says Doisneau - a world where I would feel good, where people would be kind, where I would find the tenderness I was hoping to receive. My photos were like proof that this world can exist."
The exhibition is sponsored by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo and produced by Silvana Editoriale, with the patronage of the City of Verona.
The exhibition is open every day from 10.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. from Sunday to Friday and on Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
